Professional Experience
Since 2016, I have been an Enrolled Agent and the owner of Curry Tax & Books. In 2008, I became a licensed CTEC provider and worked as a tax accountant at a CPA firm in San Rafael, CA. I am a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the California Society of Enrolled Agents, and I’m a ProAdvisor in QuickBooks.
Background and Education
Prior to establishing Curry Tax & Books, I spent fifteen years as a sailor in the Sailor’s Union of the Pacific and as a Licensed Third Mate in the US Merchant Marine. While this career change was dramatic in some ways, it was easy and rewarding. Both professions involve numbers, analysis, and working with people.
I have a B.A. in classical literature from U.C. Berkeley and a B.S. from the California Maritime Academy and Cal State East Bay in business and accounting.
More About Me
When I’m not working, I enjoy my African grey parrot, Freeboard, my friends, family (five brothers), and especially my nieces and nephews. I love gardening! My yard is full of pollinator-friendly native plants and has been certified as a “Wildlife Habitat” by the National Wildlife Federation.
